Stay tuned for the 2026 Earth Month Challenge details. The contest details will be promoted in March 2026 and the event takes place in Earth Month or April 2026.

The Earth Month Challenge for 2025 highlighted a new artistic feature, with a transportation twist.

The "Cycle to a Signal Box" contest encouraged people to ride a bicycle to an artistic signal box in Bethesda and send a photo. Five winners were randomly selected to win a prize. 

Past Earth Month Events

The 2022 event highlighted Bethesda features with transportation or Earth Day themes with a scanger hunt.
Six winners were selected and received an e-gift card worth $100 Bethesda Bucks!

The 2023 event encouraged Bethesda employees and residents to download the Bethesda Circulator app and question Circulator specific questions.
Two downtown Bethesda employees correctly answered all three questions and each received a $100 Bethesda Bucks gift card!

The 2024 event promoted the Montgomery County Green Business Certification.
