Purple Line construction has reached the point where construction crews will be using explosives to blast through bedrock at the site of the future station.
Jean-Marc Wehrli, the project manager overseeing the tunneling, told WTOP that the blasts will be in the early morning, around 5:00 or 6:00 a.m., and that people in the area will not feel anything, but may hear a rumble.
Crews will send out a construction alert before each detonation, which can be accessed here.
