Montgomery County Recognizes Dec. 1 as Rosa Parks Day

MCDOT will post placards on Ride On buses to honor Rosa Parks Day, which is celebrated on December 1.

Parks is best remembered for her brave act of resistance on December 1, 1955, when she refused to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama. Her actions inspired the local Black community to organize the Montgomery Bus Boycott, led by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
