Metrorail:


Metrorail serves 98 stations and has 128 miles of track. Metrobus serves the nation's capital 24 hours a day, seven days a week with 1,500 buses. Metrorail and Metrobus serve a population of approximately 4 million within a 1,500-square mile jurisdiction.. The Metrorail system has six color-coded rail lines, with the Bethesda Station on the red line. There are no parking facilities at the Bethesda station.

- Metrorail operates from 5:00 am until midnight Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. until midnight Saturday; Sunday: 8:00 a.m. until midnight
- Red Line trains operate every 5 minutes during peak hours and every 12 minutes during off-peak hours
- Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Green line trains operate every 8 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours

Metrobus provides more than 400,000 trips each weekday serving 11,500 bus stops in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

Paying for service
Metrorail accepts SmarTrip® Card, Mobile Wallet and credit cards for fare payment on the rail system. Buy SmarTrip® cards online, at any Metrorail station, or at many convenient locations.
When paying for Metrobus fare, riders can use SmarTrip® card or cash. If using cash you must have exact change. Bus operators do not carry money.
