Metrorail:
Metrorail provides transit service for more than 600,000 customers a day throughout the Washington, DC area. The Metrorail system has six color-coded rail lines, with the Bethesda Station on the red line. There are no parking facilities at the Bethesda station.

- Metrorail operates from 5:00 am until midnight Monday through Friday; 7:00 a.m. until midnight Saturday; Sunday: 8:00 a.m. until midnight
- Red Line trains operate every 5 minutes during peak hours and every 12 minutes during off-peak hours
- Orange, Silver, Blue, Yellow and Green line trains operate every 8 minutes during peak hours and every 15 minutes during off-peak hours
Metrobus
Metrobus provides more than 400,000 trips each weekday serving 11,500 bus stops in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.
Buses are running starting at 4:00 am and ending at midnight. Check the timetable for specific start and end times
Paying for service
Metrorail only uses SmarTrip® Card, a permanent, rechargeable farecard that is safe and easy to use. Buy SmarTrip® cards online, at any Metrorail station, or at many convenient locations
When paying for Metrobus fare, riders can use SmarTrip® card or cash. If using cash you must have exact change. Bus operators do not carry money.
