Metro Red Line Summer Shutdown Website

Metro (WMATA) has created a website to follow updates on the shutdown of three Red Line station in the summer of 2026. Free shuttle buses will replace trains at the following stations: Grosvenor-Strathmore, Medical Center, and Bethesda while major construction takes places at those stations. Trains will not run between North Bethesda and Friendship Heights during this work; free shuttle buses will be provided. Please check back to the Metro website for updates on where the shuttle stops will be located at the stations.
