From the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT):
Montgomery County’s Department of Transportation (MCDOT) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) on Wednesday, Nov. 18, will hold an online session about the many transportation options and resources available to older residents and adults with disabilities. The virtual session will be presented from 4:30-5:30 p.m. via Zoom.
After the one-hour presentation, representatives will answer questions from 5:30-6 p.m.
Representatives from MCDOT and DHHS will be joined in the session by their partners from the Jewish Council for the Aging’s Connect-A-Ride program. The session will focus on transportation resources provided by County government and other providers. Information also will concentrate on changes in transportation options and safety practices that were made due to the COVID-19 health crisis.
The conversation will provide seniors with the information needed to make essential trips by themselves. It also will address options available to access services in the safest, most affordable and most convenient ways.
Transportation resources covered will include those provided by the County and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), as well as private providers, nonprofit organizations, volunteer transportation providers and taxis.
